Monet
Rehomed
- March
2010
Monet is a 3-year-old spayed female. She's a bit on the shy side, and her previous family had a very active 6-year-old son, so that just wasn't working out too well for her. She is currently in a foster home and is getting more used to meeting new people, visiting new places, hearing new noises, and being a part of normal daily activity. She may bark if something startles her, and she will bark at new visitors in the house, but her self-confidence is improving in foster care. Through positive training she’s quickly learning that strangers really aren’t so scary after all since she gets treats whenever there’s a new person to meet!
Monet has lived with another dog her whole life. She gets along just fine with other dogs once she gets to know them. She loves to play with other dogs she knows as well as with people. She’s also lived with cats. If they like her, she likes them. She might chase them if they run, but she’s easily redirected with a "leave it" command. She is a sweet & affectionate dog, and would do just fine as an only dog, either just at first, or forever. She is a true
"velcro-vizsla" and just wants to be wherever you happen to be. She loves to cuddle, under a blanket is preferred!
Because she’s still easily startled, she would do best in a house without children. She loves to go for rides in the car, play with stuffed animals, play tug of war, and play catch with any ball - even a snowball! She’s crate-trained, and sleeps in her crate at night. She’s housebroken, and doesn't seem to have any destructive behaviors (other than de-stuffing toys!) She walks nicely on a leash and loves to go for walks. She is a very smart girl and will do well with clicker training. She would love a job to do, and obedience or agility training might be right up her alley in the future.

Mr.
E
Rehomed
- November
2009
Mr. E is 8-9yrs old, neutered and is full of life! He is
EXTREMELY friendly & happy, knows sit, here, kennel and ACH.
He waits inside of his crate/kennel until the leash is hooked,
then comes out. Has no problems on leash, and is not a strong
puller/dragger, he rides really well in the crate in the car and
potties on leash. He likes chicken (he's not so gentle with
taking treats from the hand, but
he's a REALLY good catcher, which is an acquired skill.)
He's a very sweet guy who just needs the right forever home!

Sofi
Re-homed
- November
2009
Sofi is a 5-year-old spayed female that is available to the right home. She lives with one other
Vizsla, her two-legged parents and their one-year-old. She is great around kids
and is housebroken. The reason they want to find her a new home is that she has developed some anxieties in her new home. They recently relocated from Chicago to Madison, WI and since moving into this new house, Sofi is not very happy. She has a tendency to pant heavily and pace most of the night. She is a very sweet dog and well mannered, but just doesn't like her home at night (she has no problems during the day). Her parents say when they travel with her, she has no problems sleeping the night away at other homes. It just seems to be this home in Madison she doesn't like. She is a sweet girl and deserves a forever home.

Zoe
Re-homed
September
2009
Zoe is a 9 yr old spayed female. She is an unfortunate victim of the recession. Zoe’s dad had to take a job that requires him to travel and be gone many weeks of the month.
Zoe is a sweet, low-key, older Vizsla. She’s still very interested in going for walks or playing in the yard, but she doesn’t require it like a younger Vizsla might. She very much likes to be where her people are and would love to sleep on the floor in your bedroom (on her bed, of course.)
She is great around kids, other dogs, puppies and cats. She’s not a fan of thunderstorms, but doesn’t suffer from anxiety issues.
As is not uncommon in older
Vizslas, Zoe does have a few lumps & bumps. They’ve been checked, and are benign, but should still be
watched

Viktor
Re-homed
April 2009
Viktor has found his new forever home with a family in Lowell, WI. In addition to his new human parents, he now has two teenage boys to play with and a very friendly Weim sister. Viktor is loving his new forever home.
Viktor is a 6-year-old neutered male that is looking for his forever home. He is a great boy, but has some allergies. He is on Prednisone (low dose) and Benadryl and is on a Venison diet. His parents need to find him a new home because their young son likes to feed Viktor all sorts of goodies (Cherrios, cookies) that Viktor can't have. He is a very well behaved dog and knows his commands (sit, stay, down, come). He has been crate trained, although he doesn't sleep in it now. He also knows how to hunt, but isn't the greatest retriever. Viktor is great around men, women, children, and other dogs. He would be a great addition to any home.

Summer
Re-Homed
April
2009
Summer
is lively for a Vizsla at any age - but she is almost nine years
old. She is very happy at her new home with her new BFF.
She has adjusted very well to her new home and is very much
a part of the family. Both of her new owners cannot say
enough about her, she is happy, outgoing, and doing great. She
no longer runs to her crate to get away from things but hops right
up on the nearest chair and both dogs sleep with them at night.
She truly has found her forever home. Thanks to all
who made it possible.

Copper
Re-Homed
February
2009
Copper
has found her forever home with a couple from Madison WI. She will
be their only pet and will love all the attention. They plan to
take her to obedience school, dog parks and their lake cottage.
Copper is a 7-year-old female who was surrendered along with
Lanya. Their story is pretty much the same. Copper is also a Hungarian import with a full tail. Copper
was fostered and learned fast what it means to be a house dog instead of a kennel dog. She is very active and friendly to both dogs and kids. Her tail is wagging all the time. She will need some ongoing obedience training but does respond to the "come" command and can be trusted off leash. She allows her foster parents to remove items from her mouth and loves to cuddle. Please consider giving this wonderful girl a forever home and she will reward you with lots of love and affection.

Lanya
Re-Homed
January
2009
Lanya
has found a wonderful forever home with a family in Marquette, MI.
They have an 11-year-old female Vizsla, a Rat Terrier, a cat and 2
great kids.
Lanya is an 8-year-old female
Vizsla. She was surrendered by a breeder who was moving and could not take dogs
with him to his new home. She has had numerous litters but is now spayed and looking for a retirement home with lots of love to spare. She
was a kennel dog so we fostered her to determine if she needed to learn some "house manners". She made excellent progress in this area. She is very sweet and gets along well with kids and other dogs. She understands some basic obedience commands like "sit", "come" and "no". She is a Hungarian import so has a full
tail.

with a 9-year-old Collie companion
Lucy
is a wonderful 10-year-old female who loves to play with tennis

sweet girl that is great with kids and adults, but it takes her a
little time to warm up to new people.

Odie
Re-Homed
July 2008
Odie is a 6-7-year-old neutered male looking for a new home to give him the attention that he craves. He is a very friendly dog and loves human contact but is not pushy. He is currently in a home with other dogs and enjoys dog and cat companions but may prefer to be the only dog in the house or to just have one additional canine playmate. He knows some basic commands and is currently in a home with an underground fence. He will make a great companion for the lucky family who gets to adopt him.

Daisy
Re-Homed
July 2008
Daisy is a 4-year-old very sweet spayed female. She knows some basic commands, is house broken and is very good with children and other dogs. She has not been hunted or hunt trained, but has showed some strong hunt instincts in the past. She will need some help getting down in weight, but will make for a very nice family dog nonetheless.

Sadie
Re-Homed
April 2008
Sadie
is an
approximately 5-year-old female whose family was expanding and felt that she might be better off with someone who could care for her Vizsla needs and give her all the attention that she deserved. In April of 2008 we were able to find her that new home.
Now she is enjoying being able to run across acres of land, playing with her new Vizsla sister and
getting all of the attention that she
can handle from her new parents.

Edgar
Fostered
September 2007 -
Re-Homed October 8, 2007 & December 2007
Edgar is 2-year-old male Vizsla who came into the rescue program from Northern Wisconsin where he was found as a stray dog. He was probably hit by a car in the past, which left him with broken femurs on each side of his back end. The fracture of the right leg healed, but his left leg had not and required surgical repair. A femoral head osteoctomy was done
Sept 16, 2007 while he was in foster care. The surgery took away
Edgar's pain, and the surgeon expects Edgar to be able to fully use his leg again with physical therapy rehabilitation.
Edgar was adopted on 10/08/2008 and went home to his new family in New York which
included 2 boys. They did a wonderful job rehabilitating Edgar, but unfortunately could not meet Edgar’s other needs. We were able to find Edgar a loving foster home in New York and after 6 weeks, the family decided to officially adopt Edgar. They now have 3 Vizslas and a full schedule. Edgar is doing really well in his new home, and we are very happy that Edgar is now in his forever home.

Gracie
Fostered June 2007 - Returned
to her breeder's home on August 27, 2007
Gracie is a 10-year-old female
Vizsla who was looking for a wonderful retirement home. She had served as a loving and loyal family dog for
10 years and was looking for a new home since her owner has fallen
gravely ill. She had both agility and obedience training during her
younger years and loves to show off her talent. After a very long journey that included stops in Milwaukee,
WI; Freeport, IL; Minneapolis, MN and Fargo, ND, Gracie has finally returned to her
original breeder's home in Winnipeg, Canada where she was reunited with
her 13-year-old mother and 10-year-old littermate sister along with other new canine "family" members.

Gracie
Update from her new family/breeder - September 14, 2008
Gracie is doing just great. She is well-adjusted (and a happy girl because she most often gets spoiled rotten). Her
exuberance is constant and she is always eager to please (minus the 'stubborn' streak which she gets from her mom). She is living her life to the fullest still, and she is not exhibiting any signs of discomfort [as a result of
Mast Cell Tumor diagnosis] whatsoever.

developing good hunting skills.

Sophie

kids and a 9-year-old male Vizsla. She loves spending time with the family, going for walks, and even runs along on family bike rides!
